Senior Statistical Researcher


Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford), Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford


Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health) provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching and for professional and support staff. We work together to answer some of the most important questions about the causes, prevention and treatment of disease.


We are seeking to recruit a senior statistical researcher to provide statistical and epidemiological leadership in a team studying the Benefits and Risks of Cancer Treatments. The post-holder will play a role in planning, coordination and implementation of appropriate methods of statistical analysis. You will carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions and research groups. The successful candidate will work as part of a team that includes statisticians, epidemiologists, oncologists, a surgeon, a radiotherapy physicist, and DPhil students.


To be considered you will hold a PhD in statistics or a closely related field. You will have experience of managing research projects and staff, with an established international publication record, and success in leading research grants. Strong programming skills in a statistical language, such as R, Stata, Python or C/C++, etc are essential for this post.


The post is part-time fixed term for three years in the first instance.
