Full Job Description
We're currently hiring for a Senior Support Worker to assist our students at home (on-site) and in the classroom (no personal care responsibilities). The main purpose of the role: Your role will provide support to the Shift Manager (and deputising in their absence) in managing motivating and coaching a team of support workers to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first. Key duties:
- Ensure that the medical needs of the young people are met at all times
- Ensure that all young people receive a high standard of care and live in a safe, clean and homely environment
- Communicate with Managers about the day to day running of the home and when any difficulties arise.
- Take responsibility for the shift, including making decisions regarding staffing levels and allocation in the absence of the Shift Manager.
- Complete regular supervisions and support the process of formal performance review
- To encourage independent living skills through budgeting, shopping, cooking and accessing the wider community including public transport and leisure activities or own interests.
- Support the induction of new team members and their continued mentoring.
- Keep records accurately and up-to-date
- Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Full UK driving licence and access to your own car - Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
- Be positive and creative in meeting young person's needs
- Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Competent ICT skills
- Show a strong understanding of what "good care" looks like and how to put the young person's needs first, whilst empowering them to be independent and treating them as an individuals
