Zurich Insurance is seeking an additional Senior Liability Technical Underwriter to join our existing Technical Underwriting Team. In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Liability lines of business, providing invaluable insight and guidance to our underwriters and business leaders. Your expertise will help maintain Zurich's reputation for underwriting excellence. - Knowledge Development: - Promote and enhance expertise in Employers' Liability and Public/Products Liability lines of business.
- Risk Identification: - Proactively identify and respond to emerging risk topics and claims trends.
- Driving change - Develop and implement technical underwriting guidelines, strategies, and best practices
- Problem-Solving: - Leverage your knowledge to propose and compare solutions for improving procedures. Provide actionable recommendations to the wider business.
- Customer Focus: - Anticipate and respond to customer needs with tailored solutions.
- Project Involvement: - Contribute your technical underwriting expertise to key business projects.
- Technical Resolution:- Address and resolve technical issues by adhering to policies and specifications.
- Compliance Participation: - Engage in compliance and regulatory-related activities.
- Underwriting Review: - Actively contribute to the Technical Underwriting Review process.
- Query Management: - Handle technical underwriting queries from colleagues
Curiosity and Insight:- A keen interest in investigating emerging risk topics and legal developments, with the ability to assess their impact on Zurich portfolios and suggest appropriate responses. - Adaptability:- Ability to navigate and resolve ambiguous challenges.
- Providing guidance:- Ability to develop and deliver underwriting guidance materials.
- Relationship Building:- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and leverage these relationships to achieve business goals.
- Negotiation Skills:- Proficient in using negotiation and influencing skills to gain support for underwriting initiatives.
- Policy Assessment:- Capable of reviewing and assessing both Zurich and non-Zurich wordings against Zurich guidelines.
- Qualifications: ACII Qualification or equivalent (or progress towards) is preferred.
