Full Job Description

Rip Off Britain is looking for a talented Series Producer. We need experienced programme-makers with demonstrable success on directly comparable output, who relish the opportunity of leading teams on output that can be pressured and contentious, but has high impact and particularly resonates with the audience., As Series Producer you will lead the team producing specific output, ensuring high editorial standards are maintained whilst being creative in our production. Leadership is key - you will oversee the team and be responsible for it at every stage of the production process, including research and pre-production; location filming; and post production. You will create a vision for the series and inspire others to realise it., Joining the pool will mean that you will be offered work as and when opportunities arise. Our focus will be over the next 12 months starting April 2024. Appointment to the pool will not entitle candidates to permanent contracts with the BBC, those will have to be applied for in the normal way. The Talent Pool serves as a database of Series Producers who have the necessary skills and experience to work with us, and forms a group of candidates that will be considered as a priority should a short-term (non-permanent) position become vacant.

This role requires the highest standards of creativity and popular journalism, an ability to thrive against tight deadlines and budgets, and excellent management and leadership skills., Preferably with experience as a Series Producer and a background in news and/or current affairs journalism, you will have a track record of managing a production from ideas generation through to delivery. Evidence of sound editorial judgement and the ability to lead and motivate a team are essential. You'll bring excellent writing skills, management experience, and demonstrable experience of organising and keeping on top of changing schedules in a fast-moving pressurised environment, with often contentious material.

The BBC is committed to redeploying employees seeking suitable alternative employment within the BBC for different reasons and they will be given priority consideration ahead of other applicants. Priority consideration means for those employees seeking redeployment their application will be considered alongside anyone else at risk of redundancy, prior to any individuals being considered who are not at risk.

We don't focus simply on what we do - we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you've read about our values and behaviours in the document attached below.

Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC - whether that's to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.

We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief. We will consider flexible working requests for all roles, unless operational requirements prevent otherwise.
