Reporting into the Deputy Head of Service, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead a team of scientific staff to provide high-quality genomic services in Neurology.
• Develop and share your expertise, focusing on genomic technologies, especially whole genome sequencing.
• Collaborate with clinicians and other laboratories locally, regionally, and nationally on behalf of the GLH, and facilitate multidisciplinary meetings.
• Guide the ongoing development of services.
• Lead your team with compassion and focus on staff growth
  
  We are looking for a passionate and experienced person to join our team and lead a group of scientific staff in delivering high-quality genomic services for Neurology. You will develop your expertise in genomic technologies, especially whole genome sequencing, while working with clinicians and laboratories at different levels., You are a compassionate leader with a background in Genetics and Healthcare Science. You are experienced in service planning, development, and delivery, and are dedicated to improving genomic services. You are registered with the appropriate scheme for Healthcare Scientists and hold a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists Part 1 (or equivalent experience).
  
  Sheffield Diagnostic Genetics Service (SDGS) is a committed team of over 100 professionals delivering core and specialist rare disease and oncology genomics services as part of the North East and Yorkshire Genomic Laboratory Hub (NEY GLH), in partnership with Leeds and Newcastle.
