Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to lead our experienced Merton IDVA team, working 37.5 hours a week. This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working, you will work from home, Merton Civic Centre and Victim Support Office near Old Street station., This is a hybrid role, working from home, the Merton Civic Centre with travel to the Victim Support office in Islington. As the Merton Domestic Abuse Service Manager, you will: -

  • Work in partnership with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse.
  • Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer.
  • Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for a range of professionals involved in the case of the service user.
  • Comply with child protection and information sharing policies, ensuring that service users and colleagues understand and comply with the service's safeguarding framework.
  • Manage a small case load focusing on high risk survivors of domestic abuse to provide, medium to long term service, based on thorough risk assessment and individual support and safety planning.
  • Contribute to regular service reviews which include monitoring data, evaluations, intake and output policy, and practice and work load reviews for the whole service.
  • Attend regular contract management meetings with the Merton Commisisoners
  • Effectively manage and develop a high quality, innovative and pro-active domestic abuse team.

  • A passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of gender based violence and abuse.
  • A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and harmful practices and its impact on men, women, children, families, and communities.
  • Experience of managing a team delivering front line support to victims or domestic abuse or vulnerable people to a high standard
  • A track record of demonstrating and delivering a non-judgemental, anti-racist and anti-discriminatory approach to empowering victim/survivors of domestic abuse
