Full Job Description
We are recruiting for a 12-month fixed term Service Manager for General Surgery and Breast services. This post is to cover maternity leave for the current post-holder. Secondments will be considered with approval from your line manager.
The successful candidate will have operational, staff and budget management experience gained in an NHS setting and will need to draw upon previous experience of service planning and delivery of key performance targets and quality indicators.
The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by a desire for quality and innovation. You'll work alongside colleagues to ensure safe and effective services are delivered in collaboration with the senior management team.
This post will directly support the day-to-day operational management of the restoration of elective activity including management support for cancer pathways., Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure services are comprehensively assessed, appropriately planned, effectively implemented and evaluated according to agreed policies, procedures and guidelines.
Provide operational management for agreed service(s), providing expertise, advice and guidance from a broad knowledge base to improve services by anticipating needs, planning and implementing change according to Divisional plans and objectives, and changing health care needs.
With the support of the Senior Management Team, lead on the review and development of service and workforce plans, in conjunction with other services & Divisions, the wider health care community and external agencies according to current national and local requirements.
Analyse and act on information to proactively manage and maintain NHS targets.
The Trust provides 500 beds and employs over 5,000 members of staff. An extensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools by our community arm, Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership, in collaboration with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS FT and the South Cheshire and Vale Royal GP Alliance. With the formation of Integrated Care Systems in July 2022 the Trust became a strategic partner in both Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester 'places' and is part of the Cheshire and Merseyside partnership caring for a population of over 2.7million.

· Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the entry point (bottom) of the pay band.
· Appointments are subject to a 6-month probationary period. LED Doctors are subject to a 3-month probationary period.

· You will be required to pay for your DBS disclosure (where the post requires one). This will be done via 3 monthly instalments from your pay. We encourage applicants to join and remain registered with the DBS update service.
