Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated service manager to join our busy Surgery, Perioperative Medicine and Adult Critical Care team. You will support this award-winning team to effectively manage patient flow, admin and clerical teams, service improvement projects, and financial performance.
As part of Team Surgery, you will work closely as part of a triumvirate to deliver high quality, efficient and forward thinking services across The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. You will be part of a team that is responsible for Scheduling, Theatres, Critical Care, Anaesthetics, Pain, and Elective Care.
You will be operationally responsible for managing our adult theatres complex, supporting the daily patient flow of patients through our elective care footprint. You will also have responsibility for managing our elective care scheduling team supporting patients to come int to hospital. This role will work closely with the Service Manager for Anaesthetics and Critical Care and the Service Manager for Medical Equipment, and will also have a close working relationship with the Surgical Specialties Teams and the Emergency Care and Trauma Teams.
You will also establish and oversee specific workstreams that are part of the Theatres Efficiency Group. A strong patient focussed attitude and a collaborative working approach is key., As part of the triumvirate leadership team, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the safe, high quality, efficient and financially sustainable delivery of all services within their portfolio.
The post-holder will be a key member of the leadership team in Theatres, Peri-operative Medicine and Critical Care, working collaboratively across a fast-paced, dynamic department. The candidate will be joining a friendly and ambitious team committed to triumvirate working, continuous improvement and high-quality patient care.
