Full Job Description
We seeking to appoint a well qualified and experienced teacher of A level Politics to join our bank of sessional tutors. The ideal candidate would be available for up to 13 hours per week. All teaching takes place on our Star Hill campus in central Rochester and our lessons are typically 2 hours long.
Rochester Independent College was founded as 'Rochester Tutors' in 1984 and continues to offer exam focussed tuition. As well as a full secondary education from Year 7 to sixth form, the College specialises in intensive one year A level and GCSE courses and short retake courses. There is no uniform and students and teachers are on first name terms. The average class size is 8. We have 420 students from the age of 11 and offer a fresh alternative to traditional independent education. We have 180 boarding students each year from 48 different countries.
This opportunity would suit an experienced tutor or teacher with good academic qualifications. We particularly welcome tutors who have experience working as GCSE and A level examiners in their subject areas. QTS is not a requirement.
Hourly rate: £30.00 - £50.00 per hour plus holiday pay, depending on experience and qualifications.
Rochester Independent College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020
