Full Job Description

The SET CAMHS Crisis and Therapeutic Home Treatment team offer assessment and interventions to those young people presenting with mental deterioration or crisis presentations. As a service we now work within the Thrive model and implement collaborative care plans with our community services and community SET CAMHS team to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and their families. There are opportunities here for joint working and co-ordinating alongside the community based teams. Our approach to working is being developed with a focus on meeting the needs of the young person to ensure effective clinical practice and brief therapeutic interventions, and to reduce risk to have a stabilising impact within a containing approach. Within the service there are opportunities for development and training in various therapeutic approaches, and all new starters will be provided with a full induction and opportunities to shadow the team and to learn about the various
departments/teams within the SET CAMHS model. We also welcome candidates from internal teams who may be interested in career progression and are wishing to enhance their practice and skillset in relation to this client group. Regular clinical supervision and reflective space is offered to members of the team, and the team operates on a shared risk model to ensure that decisions are made collectively with effective formulations of need., In this post you will be regarded as a senior member of the team and will lead in the oversight and management of clinical practice within your local area while also inputting into service development across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. You will work closely alongside an operational senior practitioner for peer support and will feedback to management regularly via meetings and case discussions. This position will involve a focus on developing therapeutic outcomes for young people and families who are receiving care under the pathway and developing resources and training to improve and monitor clinical effectiveness. Within this position you will be involved in direct clinical work, overseeing case formulations jointly with the community team, and offering clinical supervision to members of the team.

This post whilst able to work across the Crisis Team, will mainly focus within the context of community intervention and support. We are looking for a qualified and experienced clinician with a strong background and understanding of assessing, managing and working with clinical risk to join our expanding multidisciplinary team, which works to provide intensive community-based support and brief intervention to young people and families in mental health crisis.
