Full Job Description

We are a small team but are proud of the service we deliver. We work collectively as a team to constantly evaluate and improve our service where possible. Working with others we have close links with the inpatient ward, children's outpatients department and paediatric community service. Our ward based team is multi-disciplinary including physios, pharmacist, play specialists, patient experience coordinator and CAMHS team. You will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the unit and will work closely with the ward manager. The role is both a clinical role and a leadership role and as such you will be responsible for staff appraisals, the completion of the off duty in line with Trust policy, liaising with the clinical educator regards training, managing sickness and absence and performance management. The department has just been awarded Gold on their latest Star Accreditation Visit and nominated for a Health Academy Award as an area of excellent learning. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide leadership, coordination, and support to team members on each shift
  • Link with Ward 8, ED , and Day Case Coordinators to ensure patient flow is maintained
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary team regarding patient care ️ ️
  • Ensure all relevant referrals are completed, such as safeguarding ️, health visiting , and children's community team
  • Act as an appraiser for team members, developing the future workforce
  • Maintain standards and encourage continuous improvement
