Full Job Description

Do you want to work with a friendly, fun team in a unique setting that's more than just a business? Are you interested in being a flexible resource in social enterprise that offers opportunities to work alongside adults with learning and other disabilities? The role is to provide assistance in one or more of our social enterprises here in Botton, such as in our Store, Café, Creamery, Food Centre, at Events and in preparing (picking / packing / posting) online orders. We are creating a bank of part-time and seasonal staff who can help in the social enterprises here at Botton Village when we have uplifts in seasonal demand and to cover planned and unplanned absences in our staff teams, to ensure our businesses can continue to produce and trade. In this role you would be prepared to learn the ropes in one or more of our small businesses : Village Store - Customer Service and Stock Management Online Store - Picking and packing orders; website administration, photography & customer service Café - Customer Service & Food Preparation Food Centre - Making products from raw ingredients grown in our gardens such as jams, juices and chutneys Wood Workshop - Creating wood-based products, everything from toys to clothes airers! Events - Assisting in the delivery of an event here in Botton or working with one of our teams attending markets of country fayres to sell our products., As a Social Enterprise Bank Worker you will :

  • Support the staff team in all aspects of the different assistant' roles you are assigned to train and work in. We are a small team, and we need people who are able to follow instructions and willing to work hard as a team player.
  • Be expected to have a can-do attitude, be willing to learn but also share the skills and experiences you may already have.
  • Need to conduct yourself in a friendly, kind and professional manner at all times.
  • Some of the roles have manual work at their core, so your physical fitness and capability will need to be assessed against the wise range of tasks you might be asked to carry out.
  • Need to be committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety some of the roles will involve you being involved in food production, cleaning and equipment maintenance tasks quite a lot, so you should be prepared to get your hands dirty (before washing them thoroughly).
  • Come with the ability to solve small problems and work on your own initiative once you understand what needs doing in each of the areas you'll work in., Hours : Hours on an ad hoc basis, as required to cover peaks in seasonal demand, and to fill in for both planned and unplanned leave in staff teams.

Our cheeses have appeared on Paul Hollywood's Pies and Puds programme as well as Remarkable Places to Eat with Fred & Nadiya.
