Full Job Description

As a Social Media Account Director, you will be the strategic lead and client champion for a portfolio of healthcare and pharmaceutical accounts. You will be responsible for developing and executing innovative social media strategies that align with client objectives and deliver measurable business results. This includes overseeing all aspects of social media projects, from strategic planning and content development to performance reporting. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless campaign execution and exceptional client service. Reporting to the Associate Planning Director, Social Media, this role requires an understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, as well as a passion for leveraging social media to drive meaningful engagement and impact. What you will do (Your Responsibilities):

  • Lead strategic direction: Develop and lead innovative social media strategies and campaigns for a portfolio of healthcare and pharmaceutical clients, with a focus on thought leadership, disease awareness, and congress activity.
  • Cultivate client relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and proactively identifying opportunities to exceed their business objectives.
  • Drive campaign execution: Oversee the successful execution of organic and paid social media campaigns, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
  • Champion data-driven insights: Conduct in-depth social listening, reporting, and analysis, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations to optimize campaign performance and inform future strategies.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Maintain a deep understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical industry regulations, ensuring all social media activities and content adhere to compliance standards across different markets.
  • Mentor and support the team: Provide leadership and guidance to the social media team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
  • Manage financial performance: Oversee project budgets, proactively manage scope creep, and contribute to accurate financial reporting for clients and the agency.

The following are some examples, however in practice the whole framework will apply, The Social Media Account Director role is a mixed paid and organic social media role, supporting the PRP team in researching, developing and executing social media content., You will be working under the direction of the Social Media Strategist to lead paid social media across accounts, with ownership of other social media initiatives. This role will help upskill the PRP team and more junior social media team members., As a Social Media Account Director, you will work in collaboration with account and social media colleagues to:
  • Build social media campaigns and calendars with consideration for both organic and paid content
  • Develop and execute paid social media plans primarily on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
  • Support the upskilling of the Public Relations & Policy team's social media knowledge
  • Conduct social media listening setup based on the client brief
  • Help support the growth of the social media team by working with more junior team members to upskill them on social media writing and research
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to clients based on social media best practice

  • 5+ years of experience in a social media agency role, ideally with a proven track record of success in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry or other regulated industries.
  • Expertise in developing and executing social media campaigns across various platforms.
  • Proficiency in social listening and analytics tools such as Quid, Brandwatch, Sprout Social, or Falcon.
  • Strong understanding of LinkedIn campaign and content development, with a preference for thought leadership profile management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
