Full Job Description
We are looking for a Social Worker to the Family and Friends Team, who manage those children who are subject to PCCP, Kinship Fostering arrangements and children on Special Guardianship Orders. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and reviewing the support needs of both the children and their parents/carers. You will be required to attend court to ensure the most appropriate Order is in place i.e. when considering revoking Care Orders or converting Care Orders to Special Guardianship Orders.
You will have excellent assessment skills and the ability to engage with children and their families effectively, with a focus on wellbeing and safety of the child. You will be skilled in developing and sustaining effective multi-agency working and will closely collaborate with professionals of every discipline. With a remit spanning the assessment and support of Connected Persons, you will be guaranteed different challenges every day. You will be part of a highly supportive team environment and have access to comprehensive training and development opportunities. For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation Research and Practice issues in childcare
- Excellent communication skills with children, young people, their families/carers and professionals, Th is post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants. This will include an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body). The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016).
