About the Role: The Bristol team at Callen-Lenz provide high integrity flight and mission solutions for Unmanned Aerial Systems and Urban Air Mobility ecosystems. We are looking for an experienced software engineer to strengthen the team of highly capable, ambitious engineers. Your role will involve definition of full stack architectures, development of processes, coding, setting of project milestones and providing guidance to members of the team, depending on your preferences and experience. Responsibilities: Definition of software high-level and low-level requirements Software implementation in an embedded environment Configure and utilise auto-coder to generate code from Simulink model Contribute to software architectural design Liaising with external hardware and software suppliers Participate in peer reviews Writing technical documentation Work within a cross-functional team to achieve project goals Perform other duties to support the wider team as required

Experience of working to RTCA DO-178 Experienced in embedded C programming Understanding of using auto-code generators Experience of hardware and register level debugging Understanding of hardware design, as required to perform the role Understanding of real-time software systems Experience of implementing software safety features such as Watchdogs Working with avionics communications protocols Experienced in configuration management and bug-tracking tools Experienced in writing code to MISRA-C standard Proficient in spoken and written English
