Full Job Description

  • Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of the current Microsoft Windows Operating Systems environment.
  • Assess compatibility of existing applications with newer OS versions and determine dependencies or required upgrades.
  • Develop and recommend a migration strategy to move systems to supported versions of Windows OS.
  • Provide guidance on upgrading applications to enable OS transitions while minimizing downtime and risk.
  • Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of OS migration projects, ensuring they meet technical and business requirements.
  • Deliver technical documentation, roadmaps, and presentations for proposed solutions.

    Senior-level expertise in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, including upgrades and migrations.
  • Extensive experience in upgrading and transitioning operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of the interplay between operating system upgrades and application compatibility.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OS and application migrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to devise scalable and sustainable solutions.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and proactively identify and resolve challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience conveying technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hybrid IT environments, including on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (eg, VMware, Hyper-V) and how they interact with OS upgrades.
  • Relevant certifications (eg, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, MCSA, or similar).
