Solutions Architect - AWS UK Public Sector, Central Government

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services., As AWS Solutions Architect, you will have ownership of the technical relationship with customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency and best-practice architectures.

Internally, you will be an advocate acting on behalf of the customer to help drive continual improvements to AWS services, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features and services. You will also help shape the future of the Solutions Architecture organisation by helping to hire, coach and mentor others, and find opportunities to improve the way we work.

In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define and invent cloud-native reference architectures with the worldwide AWS Solutions Architect community.

You will own or participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelise and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

A day in the life
Every day as a Solutions Architect is different. One day, you might be building a Proof-of-Concept to demonstrate the art of the possibilities to a customer; the next, you might could be writing content to help out customers accelerate their projects or coaching others on a technology where you excel. It's a varied role that allows you to leverage your strengths and continuously learn new things.

Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries, Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting
- Experience with AWS technologies
