  • Further details about the role The Everest centre is a well-established, successful resource base for 10 children with autism. The children spend up to 50% of their day in the base (less at KS2), with the remaining time in mainstream classes. The base is supported by 3 teaching assistants who lead sessions in the base and provide additional support in mainstream classes. With an established framework for planning and assessment, the manager will deliver 1:1, small group, and topic-based sessions tailored to the children's needs. The role also includes time for planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA), management duties such as adjusting plans, observing students in their classes, supporting other staff, collaborating with external specialists, conducting annual reviews, and responding to consultations for new placements. Comprehensive support and a handover will be provided, along with training in any areas of the role if necessary.

  • Have experience working with and planning provision for children diagnosed with Autism (ASD/ASC)
  • Be an excellent teacher with strong interpersonal skills
  • Have high expectations of all pupils in regards to behaviour, standards and achievement
  • Be creative, innovative and enthuse the pupils in the resource and wider school settings
  • Be a good team player and committed to help all pupils reach their true potential
  • Be open to new ideas and enjoy learning
