Full Job Description

The post holder will take part on the middle grade rota which currently has a total of 12 persons and is likely to change in near future. This will include on call duties including weekends, and work on the Paediatric & Neonatal wards, as well as undertaking outpatient clinics. The rota for this is available for the post holder to see if required.
The below timetable is remunerated with 10 PA's, based on 8 PA's and 2 SPA's for the daytime duties and the out of hours is calculated as 2 additional PA's based on the current duties, but this may be subject to change in future if the rota changes.
The post holder will be required to be present on site for the duration of their work.
The specific daily allocations of duties will be subject to discussion on appointment.
The current on call commitment is 1:6 with prospective cover and is likely to change in near future, + Provide Middle Grade support to Paediatric outpatient clinics
+ Participate in regular Paediatric & Neonatal ward rounds
+ Provide Paediatric cover to A&E as required
+ Review Paediatric acute admissions on take days
+ On request provide Paediatric support in Community Clinics
+ Provide Paediatric opinion in Child Abuse / safeguarding cases
+ Be required to take an active part in clinical governance, ensuring that his/her practice conforms to evidence/research based procedure.
+ Be required to actively participate in the education and supervision of Senior House Officers and medical students.
+ Be required to participate in ongoing multidisciplinary audit, and to promote research.
+ Ensure changes in clinical practice are evidence based, and are consistent with the Trust's/Directorate's priorities.
+ Be expected to maintain continuing medical education as required by your Royal College.
+ Be required to work closely with directorate colleagues in achieving and maintaining both national and local standards.
+ Promote and develop effective and efficient clinical practice through the directorate's quality practice development teams.
+ There may also be a requirement to undertake other similar duties as part of this post in order to provide a quality service.
