Full Job Description
There is weekly trauma and orthopaedic teaching. Extra teaching can be arranged for anyone sitting an exam. We have a good track record for our untrained doctors going on training rotations, successful in their Fellow exams and successful with the CESR applications. We have a great library and staff. We are just a few minutes from the beach and close to the Snowdonia National Park. We have a thorough induction booklet for new starters. The department consists of 10 consultants working on a trauma rota and a further consultant performing only elective surgery. Our department is consultant led and you will be supported in all aspects of the role. Contact us, or visit us if you are thinking of working in our department., You will work in a team structure with your consultant, with continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your team and for the proper functioning of the department in line with the Operational Policy and Strategic Plan (as amended from time to time). However, the appointee will be rotated between Glan Clwyd Hospital and Abergele Hospital thus providing a comprehensive exposure to both Emergency and Elective care on a regular basis. It is possible that the successful appointee will be working outside his team structure on occasions, but consultant supervision will always be ensured.
