We are looking for a Squad Lead who is enthusiastic, with strong communication skills and a desire to drive things forward. You will have a burning desire to be the best and can inspire that passion in others around you. You do not rely upon directive management styles; you are able to think creatively around a brief and are willing to challenge when necessary.
You should have experience leading a team in regular, incremental deployments and be confident supporting a Product Owner and mixed DevOps Team. You will be proficient in methods to increase velocity and be confident in analysing metrics and suggesting improvements to benefit the team.
We work in an Agile framework in a Cloud environment and seek someone who can work independently, has good teamworking skills, and can deliver to agreed timelines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as part of this team will include:
- Essential - Agile Skills:
- Must be able to establish a mutually respectful dynamic with the team, and be willing to get stuck in to get the job done (Servant Leader).
- Must be able to communicate well with teams, organisation-wide (Communicative and social).
- Must be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team (Facilitative).
- Must be vigilant for issues as they arise, and elevate them to management with transparency (Situationally Aware).
- Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, acknowledged as a voice of reason and authority, unafraid to make tough calls (Assertive).
- Must be focused on encouraging an improvement culture within the team, improvement of oneself and the team capabilities (Continual improvement).
- Must encourage diversity of views, promote health conflict, be able to facilitate discussion, focus on solving through a variety of approaches (Conflict resolution).
- Must be able to lead a team to self-organisation.
- Understand the fundamentals of software development and DevOps processes and procedures.
- Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team.
- Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics to increase velocity.
Interview process:
This will be a one-stage process which will involve a competency-based interview via Microsoft Teams.
