Full Job Description

We are looking for motivated qualified nurses to join our diverse, friendly and professional critical care nursing team.

Successful candidates will begin on the intensive care unit and following a twelve month preceptorship period will then rotate across the general adult critical care area's.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to develop dynamic critical care nursing skills, across a variety of settings whilst maintaining the highest and safest standards of care for patients who require critical care support.

You will be given a comprehensive preceptorship period and competency pathway, supported by a dedicated team of practice based educators. Once completed, candidates will then complete the Critical Care Skills Institute; Critical Care Course (level 7 )., On each shift you will have specific responsibility for high quality patient care and experience, working directly with patients, their families, care givers and friends within the multidisciplinary team. As such excellent communication skills are an essential and integral part of the role.

Within the Critical Care units patients are nursed either on a 1:1 basis or 1:2 depending on their acuity. All our critical care nurses are trained over time to nurse those patients with the highest acuity that require mechanical ventilation, renal and/or cardiac support. Critical care nurses are expected to develop the skills of clinical analysis to support high quality and responsive patient care.
