Full Job Description

As a Strategic Change Coordinator you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster's success. With a key role in our Housing Needs Department Programme Management Office (PMO) team, you'll support the Strategic Delivery Lead as you help to deliver the department's priorities, from developing strategic level relationships and supporting services through to driving the delivery of outcomes. You'll also work to deliver key programmes with a specific focus on reshaping the Housing Solutions Service and strategic reporting of the demand and supply of temporary accommodation.

Your most important challenge will be to act as a catalyst to help our stakeholders successfully deliver their projects and programmes at Westminster City Council. Working to ensure that priorities are aligned in accordance with our strategies and are delivered in ways that will enable us to realise tangible benefits, you'll also advise on developments that assist with the delivery of strategic outcomes through collaboration with your colleagues in the Housing Needs PMO and beyond.

But your work won't stop here - you'll also play a vital role in providing assurance on project and programme performance, raising risks and issues for early resolution. To achieve our strategic and corporate outcomes, we need to understand the necessary change agenda and priorities, and the project risks, dependencies, delivery confidence and benefits management plans. With this in mind, we'll expect you to build close relationships with local delivery teams and the PMO team. We're committed to making a strong investment in the personal and professional development of everyone who works here, and you'll be supported and encouraged as you develop your talent and leadership potential.

With the ability to build strong and collaborative stakeholder relationships, and the confidence to challenge delivery leads on project and programme approaches and reporting, you'll be capable of planning and executing schedules or timelines, and interpreting, understanding and assimilating complex information. It's important that you have a broad understanding of the way local government works, and you should also be able to identify and propose solutions that enhance project delivery.

Ready to take the initiative and carry out activities within regular reporting cycles, you'll be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills. Your superb interpersonal, communication and presentation abilities will allow you to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders, and we'll also expect you to be a great problem solver with strong attention to detail and the ability to understand, interpret, assimilate and present large amounts of complex information.

A collaborative team player with a good understanding of how your work contributes to wider outcomes, you'll have well developed working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, with a particular focus on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI. Capable of building and maintaining a network of colleagues and contacts to achieve progress on objectives and shared interests, you should also have the confidence to challenge assumptions while remaining willing to compromise when this is beneficial to the development of a project.
