A role for a Procurement Manager with a focus on Sales & Marketing and Professional Services has been created to focus on the Allergan Aesthetics business which is part of the AbbVie Company. The focus of this role will include the UK affiliate and the International business (the International Business located in Marlow and other International Affiliates as required). You will support the Associate Director of Procurement with engagement of not only Senior Marketing Stakeholders and cross-functional teams but also Senior Business Managers to deliver value and cost-optimisation opportunities, capturing cost-savings/reductions and improving financial and operational performance of all service providers across a fast paced, international business.

• Proactively analyses and seeks value/saving opportunities across spend category: Marketing Services (Advertising/Creative, PR, Media, Digital, Market Research, Meetings & Events, etc) and Professional Services (HR, Legal, Consultancy, Facilities, Office Supplies, Travel, etc)
• Co-create Category strategies with the OUS Category Management Team and implement the strategy to the benefit of the business
• Compiles and synthesises both business requirements and external market conditions to develop optimal commodity strategy with full understanding of potential shortfalls and risk mitigation plans
• Conducts analysis of market conditions to manage changes in the market place & develop project plans to address such issues
• Owns and manages all internal and external relationships that are required in order to deliver against the global sourcing strategies
• It is expected that the candidate will be able to develop, compile and manage all required RFI, RFQ and RFP and help manage cross functional stakeholders through the procurement process in alignment with the agreed sourcing strategy
• Development and maintenance of key relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels operating in a 'business partner' manner to drive procurement engagement across all areas of the Allergan Aesthetics business. It is key to demonstrate value creation and cost saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
• Development and maintenance of external supplier relationships with key supplier personnel focused on working with Allergan to build a mutually beneficial supplier relationship.
• Partners with key internal stakeholders to formulate and drive innovation
• Builds and maintains a strong working knowledge of supply market conditions for the sourcing sub-categories that are being managed, as well as a good working knowledge of the supplier and sub-category offerings
• Develops, agrees and implements a sourcing category strategy for the agreed categories in support of Global Sourcing objectives
• Applies strategic sourcing practices and manages supplier negotiations to ensure that full benefits are realized and sustained
• Ensures effective transition from current practices to any new model including migration to e-sourcing & eProcurement systems, tools, process and guidelines
• Cooperates with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure continuity of Supply
• Develops and maintains stakeholder business relationship to build and win internal support for the benefit of the business
• Ensures that processes and communications channels exist in order to maximize the effectiveness of the delivery and implementations of any sourcing negotiations or projects
• Presents to line management, intelligence and market analysis regarding product and service development opportunities
• Promotes Global Procurement and its benefits internally and externally
Support and develop sustainability and diversity initiatives


• You will have the ability to think strategically and provide strategic insights to all categories / activities for which you are responsible
• You will be able to demonstrate experience gained in a project based sourcing environment, with exposure to Indirect procurement on an International basis.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline
• 5 Years + experience of working in a Pharmaceutical or Sales and Marketing Procurement role
• Demonstrated ability to lead the development of contract management and execution
• Experience in Category Management strategy.
• Experience in supplier development and supplier performance
• Strong skills in spend and performance analysis - competency in excel is advantageous
• Good understanding of supply market
• Good understanding of best-in-class sourcing management processes and techniques. Knowledge of ePurchasing tools (e.g. Ariba, SAP, JDE etc) would be an advantage
• Excellent business/financial acumen, ability to identify business opportunities and prepare business proposals
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively with internal and external executives and senior leaders
• Ability to lead, motivate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization
• Ability to understand the factors affecting the finances and/or operations of suppliers
• Excellent global supplier management skills with the ability to foster and leverage professional relationships
• Ability to identify and solve complex contractual, process, operational business challenges, and know when to seek assistance
