An exciting opportunity has arisen with Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust for sponsorship of NMC registered practitioners to undertake the MSc/Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN). This will lead to registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

• Applicants must have a live registration on either the first or second part of the NMC register and a BSc or BA (Hons) degree. Learners can apply with a degree in any discipline but healthcare related is preferred. If candidates do not have a degree, they may still be eligible. Please discuss with the Programme Lead.
• NMC registered nurse (level 1) or NMC registered midwife capable of safe and effective practice at the level of proficiency appropriate to the NMC approved Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) programme
You should also meet home student requirements (minimum 3 years residency in the UK) to be eligible for sponsorship.

The aim of the programme is to prepare SCPHNs with the knowledge & skills to provide leadership and innovation in community health. The wider goals are to improve population health, in particular the health of children and families, and to prevent illness and accidents. SCPHNs will have the community capacity building skills to support the development of community based health and well-being services. Specialist Community Public Health Nursing is a one year full-time, or two year part-time course combining taught modules at the University of the West of England (Bristol) and a clinical placement within Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust., We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
