Full Job Description

Would you enjoy the exciting challenge of joining an expanding and innovative cancer clinical trials team? We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual looking to kick start or progress their career in clinical trials.

The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is based in the Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre (BHOC), part of the Bristol Cancer Institute & the Bristol Haematology Unit. CTU is integral to the (BHOC's) specialist NHS service provided to patients; offering a treatment option as part of a clinical trial.

The Study Facilitator will be responsible for the day to day administration of a growing portfolio of Investigator-led studies in the Investigator-led studies (ILS) team. They will assist the Study Manager with the co-ordination and management of the research programme which currently encompasses 7 studies, and involves collaboration across 25 different organisations.

The portfolio of investigator-led studies are led by various successful research clinicians, primarily by Professor Amit Bahl.

Main duties of the job

The work requires initiative, accuracy and attention to detail. You will be in contact with a broad professional group, including Research and Development, Statisticians, Investigators and site teams. You will be expected to represent the Trust well at all times.

All work will be carried out in accordance with the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials Regulations), ICH-GCP, Research Governance and local and organisational Standard Operating Procedures and Policies. The post holder will be based in the Clinical Trial Unit in (BHOC) for the majority of the time, however the post holder may also need to work elsewhere within the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust or attend meetings at collaborating study sites occasionally., children, young people and vulnerable adults.
