As a Play Worker, you'll play a key role in creating joyful and meaningful experiences for children and young people with disabilities. Working closely with families and a dedicated team, you'll provide personalised support that empowers every child to thrive. - Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for children and young people.
- Lead and supervise stimulating activities tailored to individual abilities, whether one-on-one or in small groups.
- Encourage and empower children to participate in activities that spark their interests and creativity.
- Ensure the social, emotional, communication, and physical needs of each child are met with respect to their cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds.
- Use a variety of communication methods to connect with children in ways that suit them best.
- Provide dignified personal care and physical assistance as needed.
- Monitor and communicate any concerns or changes regarding children to the Team Leader and staff.
- Keep session reports and records up to date.
- Follow risk assessment guidelines and stay informed on individual care plans.
A commitment to working in partnership with parents/carers to provide the best support possible. - Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Excellent communication, listening, and reflection skills.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Awareness of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- A fun, open-minded approach to play and leisure activities.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
- A patient, non-judgmental, and sensitive approach to working with children., Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to travel confidently, either with personal transport or via public transport.
- Familiarity with the local area is a plus!
