About this client: Zoe, 41, enjoys cross stitch, music, meditation, Jellycats, online shopping, films, and Grey's Anatomy. She has Ehlers Danlos syndrome with multiple co-morbidities, including PTSD, seizures, cranial cervical instability, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and a lung condition. Zoe receives hospice care for pain management and lives with her parents. Mostly bedbound due to pain and fatigue, she can transfer with light support and needs help with personal care, including a daily bed bath and commode use. Zoe often experiences severe pain and may become upset or angry.
Overview of role: The Team Leader will provide 1:1 support and manage Zoe's small home care team. Key duties include rota planning, timesheet collation, booking appointments, staff supervision, and maintaining care plans. Nights involve on-call seizure monitoring - some nights are quiet, others more active. Zoe usually wakes after 2:00pm; mornings allow for rest and light tasks. She experiences pain and can be irritable, so staying calm and knowing when to step back is vital. No scented products or peanuts, onions, fish, or shellfish due to allergies. Strong organisation and respect for Zoe's DNR wish are essential. Full details for shortlisted candidates.
Who this job would suit: A positive, resilient, emotionally robust, confident and empathetic professional with solid experience as a Professional Support Worker. You will be dedicated, committed and enjoy working as part of a team. Comfortable with clinical procedures such as administering injections (training provided). Due to Zoe's needs, the Team Leader must be a native English speaker or fluent in English, and female.
What's great about this job: This is a role in which you can utilise your skills to really make a difference and help create a positive, effective team providing the best care for Zoe.
