Full Job Description

The purpose of the job is to support and be a friendly companion to a young boy (9) with autism and global developmental delay. The child lives at home with her family. The purpose is to build a trusting, professional relationship with the child and to support her with all his needs. Personal care will be required. The child has a great character., To support with:

  • Personal care e.g. washing, dressing and moving.
  • Constant supervision is always required.
  • Support with all safety aspects.
  • To be a social friendly companion to the child
  • To support with sensory play
  • On occasions, light household duties such as changing the bed, hoovering, washing up, etc
  • You will be required to keep him entertained in the home.
  • To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

    Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
  • Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke.
  • Be patient and supportive.
  • Be friendly and outgoing.
  • Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Be respectful of the employer's dignity, at all times.
