(Ofsted 2021) TEACHER OF ENGLISH (full time) - September 2025 We believe that fostering a love of literature and language enables young people to flourish and to live life to the full. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and supportive team of specialist teachers who share a love of English. The post will be of interest to newly qualified, as well as experienced, teachers who wish to develop professionally and personally in a supportive and happy environment. The team works exceptionally well together, ably led and supported by an experienced Subject Leader. Due to the outstanding teaching, supportive systems, and positive learning culture, students achieve highly at Waddesdon, achieving Progress 8 scores of above + 0.5 in the last three successive years (Well Above Average). In English the Progress scores for the last three years have been + 0.4, + 0.42 and + 0.26 respectively. There is a very healthy uptake of English Literature A Level and a strong tradition of celebrating Speaking and Listening at the school. Students are encouraged to read for pleasure and use our vibrant, modern library at the heart of the school. The ALPS Progress measure places Waddesdon in the top 10% of schools nationally for A Level.
