Full Job Description
The English Department at Pate's is dedicated to fostering passion for reading, writing and a love of literature, igniting creativity and critical thinking within our students.
The team are passionate about literature and teaching, bringing a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the classroom.
Pupils in years 7 to 9 are taught in their forms, with pupils in year 10 split into six teaching groups.
The Eduqas syllabus is currently followed for English Language and English Literature at GCSE, and at A-Level for English Literature.
Student, and staff, involvement is encouraged in extra-curricular activities related to the subject, including Public Speaking and student-led societies exploring literature and film. Students are encouraged to enter creative writing and essay competitions throughout the year, and we seek to organise theatre trips, particularly where performances are texts being studied.
Our English classrooms have excellent facilities, and we have a departmental office where each member of staff has a workspace with the opportunity to work collaboratively with each other.
We look forward to receiving your application to join our English Team.
