Part-time (ideally 0.2-0.4 FTE) Founded in 1646, Reading Blue Coat is a leading independent day school of circa 800 pupils from ages 11 to 18. The School is located on a beautiful 46-acre campus in the village of Sonning, just outside Reading. We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Geology to join this excellent department from September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Geology Department offers all students the chance to study Geology in Year 9, at GCSE and A Level. The ideal candidate will have outstanding specialist subject knowledge. The Geology department prides itself on its ability to motivate the students, using a wide range of practical methods to encourage learning. Lessons are delivered using a variety of resources including regular lab experiments. Fieldwork is an essential component of Geology. Applicants should have a passion for their subject and a desire to inspire students and prepare them for exams. You will contribute to the co-curricular offerings of the departments and the wider life of the School, to which your energy, warmth and pastoral instincts will lend themselves.
