Full Job Description
Kew House School was established in the conviction that there exists an opportunity for a different kind of independent secondary school in London - academically demanding but with a forward-thinking approach to selection criteria, the flexibility of the curriculum, the shape of the school day, and recognition of creativity and talent. A character-selective school, we pride ourselves on the support and care we extend to our 600 pupils whilst striving to add value to their success in all fields of academia, sport, and creativity. Kew House has successfully grown over ten years since its foundation and was recently awarded the ISI "Excellent" grading.
Facilities
The buildings are equipped with modern facilities with interactive smartboards and access to iPads.
Curriculum
Maths has a role of great importance within the curriculum, with KS3 and KS4 pupils studying 4.5 hours of Maths per week and A Level students receiving 6 hours of contact time. The curriculum is developed to engage and inspire our pupils as young mathematicians. Maths is a popular subject within the school community, with excellent uptake at A Level. The department is a strong team, with each member playing a key role in the development of creative and enriching schemes of work. Opportunities are offered to pupils who require additional support or who belong to our Gifted and Talented cohort. Whilst we aim to achieve the highest academic results for each pupil, we do not serve as an examination "factory".
Extra-Curricular
The department runs daily extension classes and support sessions.
