What we are looking for
Are you looking to become a valued member in a team of passionate teachers who are committed to delivering a world-class PE curriculum that champions ambition and success? We are looking for someone to join NSB following our recent recognition as 'Secondary School of the Year' at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and 'Comprehensive School of the Year' in the East Midlands for 2025 - the third time we have secured this honour in The Times/The Sunday Times 'Best Schools' Guide' based on our outstanding GCSE and A level results.
NSB is advertising for a Teacher of Physical Education to share in our ambitious and aspirational culture. We have consistently been ranked as one of the top two schools for competitive sport in Britain, over the last ten years (School Sport Magazine). We offer GCSE and A level PE on the AQA exam board, in addition to the BTEC Sport Level 3 National Extended Diploma and annually secure exceptional results that are well above the National average. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute towards the delivery of the BTEC Level 3 course and contribute significantly towards the extensive extra-curricular programme that forms an essential part of our school identity and core DNA. A sporting specialism in football is desirable but not essential.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with a desire to support students across a range of needs and abilities and has experience of delivering high quality teaching and learning to secure positive impact for all students - someone who places the importance of student learning and academic success at the forefront of their teaching.
How to apply
We welcome all interested applicants to arrange a telephone/video call so that you can learn more about NSB and what we could offer you as a member of staff. Please take the chance to browse our website to learn more about our past and how we are looking to the future as we became a Muti-Academy Trust in September 2023.
Application forms can be found via the school website on the 'Vacancies' page. Please send your completed application form to hr@nsb.northants.sch.uk. Alternatively, please apply through the TES or TeachNorthants portal. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to close applications early if a suitable applicant is found.
Closing date: 9am, Monday 28th April 2025
Interviews: w/c 5th May 2025
The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
