Shrewsbury seeks to appoint a full-time teacher of Physics to teach at all levels in the School in a successful, supportive and collaborative Faculty.
The post would be ideal for someone new to the profession looking to gain initial experience, key skills and knowledge in one of the country's leading boarding schools or for an experienced qualified teacher. The successful candidate should be willing to participate in the School's thriving pastoral and co-curricular programmes.
The sciences at Shrewsbury have a reputation for excellence and are among the most popular subjects in the School. There are seven full-time Physics teachers who work alongside two full-time lab technicians in seven full-size laboratories.
All pupils take science to GCSE level and every year approximately 50 pupils choose to take Physics A Level. Public examination results are excellent, and many pupils continue their scientific learning beyond school, enrolling at the world's best universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, in degree courses such as Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Natural Sciences, Medicine, Chemistry and Biological Sciences.
