Full Job Description

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a Teacher/Tutor
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To share and support the school's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

    Hold a recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject teaching qualification (QTS)

  • Desire to further raise overall achievement in your subject that seeks to promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning

  • Demonstrate a commitment to following the school's principles of teaching, learning and assessment

    We are looking for a Teacher of Science. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Barnwood Park School and become an integral member of the Science team.
    • Barnwood Park is a 11 - 16 school based in the centre of Gloucester. It has been on a rapid school improvement journey since June 2024 when Greenshaw Learning Trust began offering support and guidance. It officially joined Greenshaw Learning Trust on 1st January 2025. The school is made up of extremely committed, passionate staff who are desperate and determined for the school to be the best it possibly can be. A big focus on teamwork, clear, considered actions and strategies, holding the line, improved organisation and ensuring excellent CPD has meant that the school has had an excellent start to its improvement journey. The school itself offers a range of subjects including the CORE subjects, humanities and languages, but also a big focus on the creative arts, performing arts and sport. Barnwood Park has a significant number of students with SEND and PP so inclusion and quality first teaching is an essential element of everything that we do.
