Role: Teacher - Sociology

Location: The Corby Sixth Form

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Teacher of Sociology to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

· Student Development - Help students develop skills and reach their potential through course delivery and curriculum development.

· Teaching and Engagement - Undertake teaching commitments, motivate students, plan and deliver lessons, and provide assessments and feedback.

· Curriculum and Activities - Contribute to curriculum development, organize extracurricular activities, and participate in departmental meetings.

· Promotion and Reporting - Promote The Corby Sixth Form at events, produce student progress reports, and contribute to student enrichment.

· Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, and engage in training and development.

About you:

· Qualifications and Experience - Degree in a relevant subject, Certificate in Education, GCSEs in English and Maths, current A Level teaching experience, and success in teaching.

· Skills and Knowledge - Up-to-date subject knowledge, use of ILT in teaching, promoting equality and diversity, and providing high-quality learning experiences.

· Interpersonal Skills - Effective team member, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to create a welcoming environment.

· Professional Conduct - Promote safeguarding, maintain professional boundaries, update skills continuously, and work flexibly.

· Commitment and Adaptability - Commitment to Sixth Form values, robust approach to work demands, and willingness to work at all College locations.
