Full Job Description

Leading a team of occupational therapists and technicians you will deliver value based occupationally focussed intervention across Lakeside and IACU, supporting rehabilitation and discharge planning.
The occupational therapy service provides occupationally focused intervention modelled on the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan. Embedded in the strategy is the Rehabilitation Model, and three key areas : 'doing only what we can do', 'right care right time right place' and 'building a skilled and enabled workforce'.
The occupational therapists are key members of the MDT providing assessment and ongoing therapy to patients following D2RA and the 'Home First' principle with 'What Matters' conversation central to intervention plans. Partnership working is important to the service to ensure a timely, efficient service.
You will join the established, supportive occupational therapy team within UHW. The service has an active training programme in place with service development, training and CPD opportunities.
We are seeking people who are as passionate as we are about delivering quality occupational therapy intervention to people in the medicine setting.
The posts are full time and will cover 7 day working which includes weekends and bank holidays., We are seeking someone who:
+ enjoys being part of a busy team
+ can lead service development in occupational therapy
+ offers occupational therapy in an inpatient setting
+ has a current knowledge of complex discharge and can manage complex a caseload
+ can implement D2RA, Home First and the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum.
