Full Job Description

As one of two Team Leaders, you will lead and inspire an established team of six officers within Early Years Sufficiency and Access, working in collaboration with the Early Years and Childcare Sufficiency and Access Manager to effectively deliver early education funding to private, voluntary, and independent providers that offer vital early education to young children across Oxfordshire. As part of your role, you will:

  • Oversee the effective distribution and audit of the early education and childcare entitlements in line with statutory requirements and the Council's audit and financial procedures.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of 'how to' guides on all aspects of the funding processes to ensure all staff and external providers have the knowledge to carry out the work effectively and consistently.
  • Oversee the development of new systems, IT and business processes in line with changes in Government policy, and ensuring changes are effectively communicated to our providers.
  • Empower and lead part of the Early Years and Childcare Sufficiency and Access team to deliver on their responsibilities successfully, giving them the autonomy to do things differently as we continue to streamline our processes.
