Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Assistant to work within the private sector housing team supporting the selective licensing scheme. The role will be working as part of a dedicated Team in Blyth responsible for the implementation, running and management of the selective licensing scheme in an area of the croft ward. The role will be supporting the team to work with landlords to ensure good property and management standards. Along with supporting the team to engage with property owners, community groups and stakeholders in the area along with working closely alongside the private sector housing officers to promote good practice in the private rented sector and assisting with the wider Blyth regeneration scheme. The technical support role will be essential to the successful running of the scheme, which will include managing the IT systems and coordinating correspondence relating to licensing. The post holder will be supporting the officers with administrative duties relating to a range of legislative areas in relation to Selective licensing and housing standards. The role will also include facilitating and supporting events and community engagement and required to effectively respond to and deal with routine written, telephone, electronic and personal service enquiries from members of the public, professionals and other interested parties.
- We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who is a great team player, with good organisational and IT skills to provide technical and administrative support for the Selective Licensing Team.
- The role will require excellent communication skills, IT skills and the ability to understand and develop the use of IT software systems to achieve work objectives and effectively support the team.
- The postholder will be committed to the primary council objectives to ensure that a customer focused service is provided, and that service delivery is to the highest standards of customer care and quality.
