Full Job Description

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join the Harm Free Care Team as a Band 3 Technical Instructor, working between both the inpatient Falls Prevention and Tissue Viability teams. The post holder will work across the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to support the prevention of falls and pressure ulcers, reducing patient harm. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive individual who has a keen interest in quality improvement. The successful candidate should have highly developed communication skills and an interest in the training and education of both patients and staff.   • You will be redirected to Trac to apply for the vacancy. Please expand the job details section and read all of the information before applying for the vacancy., The post holder will work collaboratively as part of the Harm Free Care Team, working towards excellence in patient safety.
  • The role will work alongside the Falls Prevention Coordinator (FPC) and Tissue Viability Team (TVT), with multi-disciplinary teams to help prevent and reduce harm from falls and pressure ulcers in hospital. The post holder will have a key role in working with clinical staff to develop their knowledge and skills in falls and pressure ulcer prevention, by delivering training in this area. The post holder will be involved in quality improvement, research, audit and analysis of falls and pressure ulcer data. The post holder will assist the FPC and TVT in developing and leading the implementation of a strategy to ensure that falls and pressure ulcer prevention is sustained. The post holder will also support the wards and departments in the assessment and delivery of high quality wound and falls care.
