Full Job Description
The role of the Telephonist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital is to work as part of a team under the supervision of the Telecommunications Supervisor, operating a busy computerised switchboard.,
- To receive, connect and provide appropriate information to callers ranging from the public to all levels of hospital staff.
- Be fully conversant with switchboard emergency procedures for all relevant Trusts.
- Making bleep and radio paging calls.
- To attend all Trust mandatory and essential training.
- To comply with Trust policies and Telecommunications procedures and practices.
- To work without direct supervision as and when required.
The candidate must be reliable and motivated to join our busy Switchboard Team. The candidate must be flexible to work additional hours to cover annual leave and other absences as the service demands. The candidate would operate a busy computerised Switchboard must be IT literate and have a good telephone manner.
