Full Job Description

ensure all food preparation is carried out in accordance with food hygiene procedures. ensure food is prepared to required standards checking for taste, presentation and quality. ensure portion control, preparation and storage methods to avoid wastage and keep down costs. ensure daily / weekly / monthly cleaning duties are carried out as per TAC standards. Complying with all legal requirements including food hygiene, training and record keeping. Maintaining high standards of fire, hygiene and safety as laid down by Company and local Environmental Health. Reporting to the HOD or the maintenance person, any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazard. Duties : Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes. Completing the overnight prep list given by the sous chefs at the start of the shift. Assisting the Breakfast chef in setting up the section ready for the service. Responsible for providing a meal to the night staff. Following the recipes and ensuring that the highest quality food is produced on a consistent basis. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. Ensuring safe hygiene practices are maintained throughout the kitchen at all times. Ensuring that the working section is cleaned, maintained and checked on a daily basis.

We are searching for highly motivated and experienced individuals, who have worked in a similar role. You will be an excellent and confident communicator with exceptional people skills. Other skills that will need to be demonstrated include :

  • City & Guilds or a professional cookery qualification
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Impeccable appearance of personal grooming
  • Confident, professional, resilient and disciplined
  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm to learn
  • Proficient in English language
