Full Job Description

To work as part of the operating department team in supporting the process of streamlining equipment and consumables to maintain a uniform, cost effective and efficient process throughout both sites. You will support an effective service by ensuring equipment requirements are sourced from the surgical teams and are planned in organisation with theatre scheduling. Ensuring a good working relationship with sterile services, medical engineering, procurement, and company representatives are maintained., o Communicate with sterile services for daily equipment requirements, identifying and escalating any on day issues to the Theatre co-coordinator and Clinical Transformation Manager. Using diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills where equipment is required as priority or where patient care is potentially affected.o Work with theatre department, scheduling team, procurement, and sterile services to communicate and plan equipment needed as per agreed practices and provide continual safe patient care.o Manage / implement policies and procedures to ensure continual service provision.o Ensure service changes have a communication, transition, and implementation plan as per Trust procedure.o Escalate equipment issues as necessary to Theatre managers, medical engineering, or external contractors.o Liaise with external contractors and medical engineering regarding the maintenance and servicing of equipment as required.o Continuously ensure kit expenditure is documented and reportable.o Plan and
coordinate with transport services equipment requiring quick turnaround.o Manage and audit consignment stock.o Oversight of contracts for equipment and organising with Clinical Transformation Manager/ Clinical Operational Manager any effect on theatre sessions/ block out theatres for acquired collection/ maintenance.
