An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Practitioner in the Anaesthetics and Recovery team at the West Wing Department in John Radcliffe Hospital. Main duties of the job Anaesthetics Work alongside the anaesthetist in caring for patients in the administration and maintenance of general, regional and local anaesthetics Preparation of a wide range of specialist equipment such as anaesthetic machines and devices, to safely secure the patient's airway during anaesthesia and support maintenance of their cardio-vascular stability Monitor, assess and respond to changes in the patient condition as required, evaluating care provided, An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Practitioner in the Anaesthetics and Recovery team at the West Wing Department in John Radcliffe Hospital., If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below as well as those not included here, call today to discuss further :

  • Work alongside the anaesthetist in caring for patients in the administration and maintenance of general, regional and local anaesthetics
  • Preparation of a wide range of specialist equipment such as anaesthetic machines and devices, to safely secure the patient's airway during anaesthesia and support maintenance of their cardio-vascular stability
  • Monitor, assess and respond to changes in the patient condition as required, evaluating care provided
  • To act as the patients advocate during the perioperative period of care
  • To be responsible for anticipating and providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team
  • To participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain agreed standards of care
  • Follow Codes of Professional Practice providing high quality and safe care to patients undergoing procedures within the Perioperative environment
  • Work effectively within a team

    Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Current relevant professional registration - HCPC / NMC
  • Enhanced DBS
  • UK / NHS experience
  • Proficient IT knowledge and Microsoft Office skills
  • Anaesthetic Practitioner
  • EPR experience desirable
  • Paediatric competent
  • Person Specification Experience Essential
  • Enhanced DBS
  • In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable., Relevant degree or equivalent
