Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients and their families? St Michaels Hospice is seeking a dedicated Therapy Assistant to join our Patient Services team., The main duties of the Therapy Assistant role at St Michael's Hospice include:
1. Clinical Work:
+ Supporting qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in assessing and re-assessing patient needs.
+ Assisting in providing therapy, treatment, and advice to maximize patient independence and align with rehabilitative palliative care philosophy.
+ Conducting basic assessments and delivering delegated therapy programs under guidance.
+ Advising patients, families, and carers on treatment and equipment use, ensuring safety and understanding.
+ Liaising with external health and social care professionals.
+ Performing risk assessments and prioritizing daily workloads based on patient needs.
+ Maintaining and managing equipment levels and accurate patient records.
2. Training and Development:
+ Sharing knowledge with hospice staff and contributing to rehabilitative palliative care training and philosophy.
+ Attending mandatory training and engaging in professional development through supervision, portfolio maintenance, and skills development.
+ Participating in user feedback and audits to improve service delivery.
3. Special Conditions:
+ The role requires reliability, effective communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and adherence to the hospice's values of respect, dignity, compassion, transparency, and collaboration.

As a valued member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work under the guidance of qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to deliver therapy, treatment, and support.
