Full Job Description

Advise and where necessary investigate and or take enforcement action in accordance with our Enforcement Policy. You will manage your own workload and undertake your own criminal investigations. You will undertake project work as required and keep abreast of legislative changes and maintain the required CPD hours., We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments. Are you hardworking, enthusiastic about consumer protection and keen to support businesses? We are looking for a Trading Standards Officer Level 3 to join our vibrant and forward thinking Service . A qualification and or experience in a statutory required legislative area would be preferred. No two days are the same and you have the opportunity to make a real difference to support businesses and protect people from the risk of harm.,

  • Have obtained the relevant CTSI qualification (DTS, DCA, DCATS or current equivalent), or have recent investigation experience .
  • Have experience in managing own workload, planning and preparing for inspections and meeting deadlines and recording work in a detailed, accurate and timely manner, preparing reports and undertaking project work.
  • Demonstrable experience in interpreting and applying appropriate legislation; enabling you to lead on, and undertake criminal investigations and enforcement action.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing advice to businesses, including complex advice whether face to face or by letter or email.
  • Demonstrable experience in providing advice, guidance and supervision to less experienced staff.
  • Be willing and able to deputise for senior TSO's when necessary, including attending meetings and liaising with external partners.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and statutory requirements. in order to maintain a thorough knowledge of Trading Standards legislation for your area of work.
