Full Job Description

We are looking for a trainee Gas Supervisor to train and develop to be able to manage a team of mains and service layers covering South-East of England. Safety, performance management, commitment and willingness to learn and progress are key to be successful in this role. Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of gas mains and service replacement projects in a way that is financially viable whilst ensuring they we maintain quality work, carried out safely, completed on schedule and in accordance with our client's changing needs with minimum inconvenience. Key responsibilities & duties: The day-to-day role as you develop includes the following responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety and compliance managing operatives and CDM requirements
  • Gas mains and service replacements, deep excavations, and reinstatement.
  • Ensuring that all projects are constructed to CDM Regulations in a safe manner as per designs and that they are documented and recorded correctly.
  • Ensuring that all required plant and materials are on-site when required.
  • Liaising with the client and local highway authorities.
  • Customer Liaison on project and complaint management.
  • Day-to-day management of a team of mains and service layers
  • Working closely with our planning and permit team.
  • SCO Compliance and Routine Operation (RO) management.
  • Out of hours, weekend working and standby rota participation.
  • Routine inspections and engineer competency checks (work in progress & post-completion audits).
  • Staff training and development through appraisal and review processes.
  • Cooperate with requirements of Lanes-I in relation to health and safety and not inhibit our ability to meet our duties under the HSAWA

    Full Driving Licence
  • Previous Utility / Civils Experience
  • NRSWA Supervisors Streetworks
  • Customer Experience

  • Required Skills / Experience / Competence:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
