An exciting opportunity to join the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) as a Regional Trainee Support Manager. GMTS attracts, recruits and employs a diverse range of graduates, training them to progress from managers to mid-level leaders. As a fast track leadership and management development scheme, GMTS also creates a talent pipeline of potential future senior leaders across a number of different specialisms. The Regional Trainee Support Manager focuses on delivering an effective service supporting the GMTS to create an excellent placement experience for trainees and host organisations. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well co-ordinated service capable of meeting all regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.   • Specific responsibilities include:
  • Support the local delivery of GMTS across a defined region(s) and/or NHSE specialisms.
  • Be the main point of contact for the GMTS trainees and programme and placement managers to ensure all those involved with the scheme experience the highest possible quality experience.
  • Coordination and monitoring of appropriate development experiences and opportunities for GMTS participants within their area of responsibility.
  • Focus upon pastoral support to trainees on the scheme across the geography to ensure a high quality, nationally consistent experience for trainees across regions.
  • Support a range of trainees with diverse characteristics taking relevant specialist advice to support trainees and placements accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with trainees, HR, programme and placement managers and GMTS senior managers to follow a variety of HR and performance related GMTS policies often dealing with complex and sensitive people matters.
  • Contributing to the development and engagement of the Trainee Voice Structure and its component working groups - working in partnership with the trainees to improve and strengthen the GMTS.
