Full Job Description
- Plan and allocate resources within the Pallet Network and Local Transport fleet.
- Provide a friendly and helpful Driver Reception service, ensuring efficient allocation of vehicle keys and manifests.
- Liaise with Night Trunk drivers to coordinate arrival schedules.
- Assign General Haulage consignments and customer collections to the fleet, ensuring optimal utilisation and profitability.
- Prepare vehicle and load manifests and liaise with the Warehouse and drivers.
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers and other Pallet Network depots, handling email and telephone queries professionally and efficiently.
- Assist in compliance by ensuring adherence to Drivers' Hours and Working Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records.
- Contribute to Health & Safety initiatives, including transport risk assessments and accident investigations.
- React quickly to daily transport challenges with professionalism and accuracy.
A keen interest in logistics and transport planning. - Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to daily challenges.
- Math's & English to a recognised GCSE standard.
- Excellent computer skills, accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.
- Basic knowledge of transport compliance and regulations (preferred but not essential).
